Hell, If you are going Potsy then I might even give it a go. I imagine you to be a bit like James May from Top Gear so I should be able to match your pace (as long as I am not the one at the back being heckled by the rest of the group!). I will watch with interest to see if it falls in with my 8 day shift pattern.

Right - someone will have to lead this if we go for March - I'm gonna be off the bike from 15th Feb - my operation date has been brought forward (just had the letter this morning). Should be back fighting fit sometime April.

Argh - gonna have to set the turbo up in advance - will be a struggle with one arm if I don't.

You'll have worked your way thru at least 2 more bikes by the time this ride happens

How rude

But probably true

Be nice to have a couple more slower riders to keep the speed machines in check, saying that now it might be put back a few weeks I could be a bit fitter by then

ps I don't have long girly hair like James May, you're thinking of Tharg

Count me in as a preliminary yes, whatever the date, I will try to come along! I might ride fixed, so will be honking up the hills at snail pace

If any of you guys want to roll up some of the hills in advance, let me know, I'm looking to hit most of the big hills in the area fixed and with a big gear, basically to see if I can, company welcome!

Never heard of that climb before but did a quick google. Its not far past Audenshaw reservoir, which I keep meaning to go look at, cycled past it twice (on the way to and back from the Bottoms to Woodband Reservoir stretch in the edge of the peaks) and not noticed it.

I am assuming you mean the Joal Lane in Hyde? Whats the gradient? Looks steep on streetview. Added to my list, want to boost my moral by cheering and watch me crawl up it with an 85" gearing one weekend soon (a saturday or sunday afternoon most likely)? I wont be racing anyone up it though, lol!

Was going to go ride Cragg Road today, but had too much on with uni so wouldnt have time to ride all the way out through Rochdale and up the vale to Hebden Bridge and back and there is no reasonable train's running to get me to Rochdale or Hebden Bridge today

Also no worries about the favour, whenever you get time.

Pym chair is challenging. But you won't get up it on a fixed.

Please send me a google map link when you get time, all this can go on my to-do list. If you want to suggest climbs, can you also give me approx gradients and length of climb.

I am quite aware of hijacking Fossy's thread here though, so pm's might be best.
