I have reached my great age and have never been to Manchester!!

I fully expect a torrent of derogatory comments, but, amongst them all, is it a place where you could find good things to do for two or three days!

The Science and Industry Museum is worth a visit.

Loads to do. Unlike London, you can walk across the city centre in 30 minutes as it's quite compact.

Manchester Museum on Oxford Road, lots of theatres, some fabulous pubs and restaurants

Favourite city in the UK,never tire of it.Just wander and enjoy

Terrible reputation at one point but it really has turned around. I visit regularly and always enjoy it.
