SAW acts clogging up the charts. Against this backdrop, The Roses managed to capture lightning in a bottle. A melting pot of myriad influences; culminating in a debut album so unique and epochal, that nothing since has been able to match.
It is a sad day. And no mistake.

Saw them @ Brixton Academy 8/12/95.
With hindsight, Brown's (live) vocals were already getting ropey. Factor in 'debut album syndrome' and the writing was already on the wall.
Still, saw them live. And that's all that matters really.
