Map my ride numpty

I have got the app in my phone and been on four rides each time trying to record the ride. I check the gps is locked on and then store the ride when i finish...having turne doff wi fi because i read that can weaken a gps signal the app then tells me...oops seems there is no connection dont worry we will upload the ride when we can ...so i turn wifi back on and hook th ephone up to my laptop go to the mapmyride site and each time there is nothing..each ride failed to record/upload .

Now I know this pilot error...so what is this pilot doing wrong?

It happened to me once. I was lucky to remember the distance & time and just log it. I was really pissed about it though because it was (at the time) my longest ride at that time. I still don't know what happened though. I wasn't near any wifi hotspots that I know of. Hasn't happened since. *crossing fingers*

yeah..i feel the 'pain'....i'm guessing i must have something set wrong...
