Kirton, Devon.
Dorset is the hotspot, with Devon next. Not a surprise as that's from whence my family hail ....
Rest of the country, bugger all.

Most commonly found just below Bristol, and more commonly found near Barnstaple. Dad was born in Ireland (Grandfather was in the Army and stationed there), Mum was born somewhere in England. I lived in Weston-Super-Shite and was born in Bristol.

Interesting. My surname hotspots in Stoke, and again in Birmingham, my birthplace. It covers the west Midlands and a corridor from the Cotswolds to south Manchester. My mother's maiden name shows no data (Di Talamo) but my cousin's surname , Sproule, shows no mainland coverage, but a distinct hotspot in north west Ireland.

That's interesting ... I was telling @Fubar on my Mull forum ride on Saturday that my mother's family moved to the Scottish mainland from Mull in the 19th century and sure enough, they appear most around Tobermory and on the mainland across the Sound of Mull.

My hotspot is Lincoln, spreading north to Hull and south to Peterborough. I don't know anybody out that way, but it doesn't surprise me. There was a tiny hamlet with my surname in the Fens years ago, but its gone now...

Bang on the nail for me. My surname is really quite uncommon, from Anglo saxon i think, my grandfather (and no doubt some before him) hails from Bristol and many of the family still do. I'd researched the name years ago and knew it was uncommon outside the West Country...so the Web page comes as no surprise.

Strange for me and my wife. My surname has a real hotspot in the Devon area, I was told it was a London centric name. My wifes surname seems to be only found in the Devon area which is strange as her family are originally from Belgium/Netherlands and seem to have populated the London Essex area which does not show up on the map at all. .
