Awesome steel bike. I have the original parts if you want to put back to standard. Carbon bar been added for a gravel bike feel.
Lovely condition just one small mark on top tube. Rides like a dream. The Exage groupset is like new & shifts super slick.

Size medium 17.5 inch.
South Pontefract.
£200

What a gorgeous bike - is it your own, or is it your business to buy older bikes, fettle them and sell them on?
Out of noseyness, be interested to hear it's history if any is known, looks like it must have lived a very sheltered life?

Medium is a 17.5 I think?

I have a 1991 Palisades Trail (And a 2006 one), but I think sadly the steel one is probably beyond repair, or would need a massive amount of work to make it viable.
IIRC the Bear Valley is at least two rungs up from the Palisades Trail - by Bro has a 1996 Rocky Ridge that he has converted to a touring bike, and goes all over the world on it.
*Actually t'internet would suggest it's only one model up, if it had been a Palisades, I would likely have already been on my way!

Pontefract made me think you were in Wales, but google maps tells me more Leeds way.

A Marin collector has had it in one of his shipping containers for years. Then he sold a few on a classic MTB page to thin the collection down. It’s a beauty but it won’t get used. Just sits in my garage.
I got it as a retro bike to park ride with my daughter. Maybe I should do that more as she’s getting stronger now.

What an amazing story, I didn't even realise keeping bikes in shipping containers was a thing I'll be honest.

So it's basically new, is that fair to say?

What an incredible find. I didn't think I would like the drop bars on it, but it makes it a whole lot more practical doesn't it.
Did it come stock with the purple anodised bits (cages excluded) or did you/the previous owner add them?

I strongly suspect if you put this on ebay or facebook it would be gone within the day, I'm sorely tempted myself, but know I'd invoke the wrath of my partner sadly :-(

The thought of a brand new, box fresh shimano shifting system from that era is phenomenal - those trigger shifts were pretty nice.

Yeah it’s super clean drive train is box fresh. I added the purple to be 90’s.
Very easy to put back to its straight bar I didn’t even have to cut cables.
