Just picked up a nice Marin Pine Mountain locally , full Shimano Deore group set .

Newer wheels , decent tyres fair enough condition considering it's age . And a great retro colour scheme .

Tange tubing so nice and light just needs a clean and some use .

@biggs682 - your obsession's worse than mine:

Mine are:
Ridgeback Platinum from 2012 - audax
Wilier Montegrappa 2015 - commuter
NeilPryde Nazaré 2015 - best bike that scares me
Principia TT2 light 2002 - TT
Raleigh Equipe 2016 - track
Raleigh Pioneer 1996 - do-it-all

And to be soon on sale:

Principia RSLe - too small and too quick for the commute
Eastway 4.0 - ex-winter bike
Keith Lambert shorter - too big
Peugeot Premiere - too big

My son's:
Cervélo S3 - race
Giant TCR - training
Avanti Pista Pro - track
Carrera Tanneri - winter
Columbus X-Wing - cross-commuter
Specialised Hotrock - single-speed MTB conversion
Specialized MTB

And projects:
Moulton Midi
Carlton Continental
Peugeot Electra
BeOne Raw Comp - son's next training bike

That leaves a replacement winter bike to be sourced/built for October this year.

Interesting couple of bikes there @DCLane i have been looking at a 2012 Ridgeback Platinum recently and might actually go for it as my do it all bike , what are they like to ride ?

a few of mine are either projects ( at least 3 ) and at least 3 are for sale with a couple more soon to join them and 2 of them are bikes kept for stepson and his girlfriend

I really like them, basically a fast tourer. Note that I've changed the seatpost for a Fizik one and I've got Pearson bars as this was bought as a frameset from here. They're a comfortable ride but can still cover distance at speed. Check the downtube where it meets at the head tube though; my 2011 frame cracked at that point.

Mine's done both PBP and LEL along with a range of other 300km+ rides without issue. It's equipped with an Ultegra 6700/6800 and Dura-Ace 7800 mix on a decent wheelset. 8000+ miles and it's still going strong. Long-drop brakes mean I can run with full mudguards as well. Mine in full LEL trim:

I'm a big fan of the 26" wheel MTB's built back then with full-rigid frames and no clunky suspension gimmicks. Good sturdy machines with nothing much to go wrong on them. If that latest Marin came off eBay, it was probably the same one I spotted, but I need to finish sorting out a couple of my project ones rather than acquire more!

No came of a local advert

First actual ride on the Pine mountain last night as i couldn't ride it when i went to see it as tyres were flat

rides well apart from the amount of drag on the tyres as soon as you stop pedaling it almost stops dead

so if it going to be a keeper will need to swap tyres over for some smoother road based ones

I had a 1989 Pine Mountain, bought from Two Wheels Good, in Leeds
Kept it about a year, then............ someone told me where there was a Pace Research RC100 for sale.........................

The picture, with (my old) Chevette must have been just after purchase, as the reflectors are still on
It has one of those seat-pin pumps too

Girlfriend (wife since 1998) had a '89 Bear Valley - later swapped for an Aluminium O
