"Maruishi Excellence"

I bought a "Maruishi Excellence" vintage for $160...
Does anyone know anything about these bikesI can't seem to find any info online.Thanks.

Not heard of them. However the frame has some panto which s always a good sign and what looks like Suntour kit which is also nice (looks like Suntour as the pics are out of focus)

Nice bike, the next one up in the range from the Mediocrity.

No idea but looks to be quality as many Japanese made things are.
If it's too big for you it could always be pressed into service as a farm gate.
I wonder if it was made for their domestic market or sold for export as Nishiki was? I suspect the former.

Maruishi is an old company in the Japanese bicycle industry. They began by importing bicycles including bicycle from Premier in England which used a Kangaroo logo.

This Maruishi Excellence dates from about 1986.

Maruishi in Japan declared bankruptcy in 2004.
