my mum loves Swan Lake. She always wanted to see it. A few years ago i got her the best seats in the house at Symphony Hall in Birmingham to see it. She loved it. A month ago i was offered half price tickets to see Matthew Bourne's interpretation of it. I ummed and arred, would she enjoy it a second time round? In not so good seats? Sod it, i thought and bought them anyway.
phoned her last night after the performance. She was gushing... It was amazing, this time the men were wearing the feathers and it was "very modern" she said. I said "o that's nice that it was a bit different, i was worried you'd be bored". "No", she said, "it was amazing and very different".
today i went to the hairdressers. I told my hairdresser she went to see it.
O yes, he said... Its the gay version!
LMAO. I sent my mum and dad to a gay ballet. Not an idea they would have normally entertained being a bit... er... old school shall we say.
i just texted her to ask her if there were any female ballerinas in it. "yes" she said "why do you ask?" . I told her and she said "LOL we thought the men were a bit friendly!!"
Anyway, apparently it is one hell of a performance so if you get chance to see it...
