Mavic rim vs tyre compatability

Was looking at the mavic open pro 'ust' clincher rims - but it says they are only meant for use with a specific magic tyre.

Is this right? They are going to be for touring and I like a schwalbe tyre so need to check.

I suspect it's just marketing but they are very specific about it so if it doesn't work with other tyres you can't say you weren't warned.
I should err on the side of safety and choose another rim.

Probably is marketing, but if you use another make and have problems, mavic will just say its because of the tyre you've used.

I think they're saying it is only reliable as a tubeless set up with those tyres, due to the sealing I'd suspect.

If you want a touring wheel, why not just ask Spa to build you some that will best meet your needs? Good vfm too
