What's peoples choice when getting rims!
I'm going to get a pro 2 hub just don't no what rim to get!
I ride trail centres and do a lot of free riding in the lakes!

Mavic ex729 ?? Personal choice really , for tough rims i like the sun-ringle MTX rims ( look cool in winter camo ), their single tracks are also legendary too.

Thanx fella I've been looking at the 729 I was wanting a red rim to go with the colour scheme but cant find one!

I put DT Swiss EX 500 on Cubester's Ragley. The guy in the LBS recommended them over the Mavics due to the eyeletting which apparently makes them stronger. In the hands of a Clydesdale build 13 year old they have remained true for 8 months so far.

How much does it cost to Oldham?
I'm getting the impression- and this is just my opinion- that mavic have been letting the quality of thier rims slip a little as their complete wheel division has grown. I've had several open pro's (road rims) fail prematurely ropey circumstances.

That said, thier ceramic rims are shoot hot, and i've been running a pair of old D521s on the MTB for a good while now no probs. Just a little puzzled about failures on newer non-ceramic rims.

Is it the bigger number the better and stronger the rim?
As I dont really want to be putting a full on dh rim on!!
