HI,
I've just bought a Mavic 719 rim and it uses the SUP rim joining technology - like many high end mavic rims.
This is where the rim is arc welded together and then milled smooth.
My question is: should the milling go beyong the rim surface?
My rim has a 2mm wide cut into the rim where the joint is and it's covered by the rim sticker - is this normal? Never seen it before! Usually the rim sticker just covers the join. On this rim the sticker doesn't make contact with the rim joint because it's been milled so low.
