They say if you can' say something nice.....but I'm struggling

From the Grauniad report of his death

While he was hugely successful professionally for many years, his methods were not universally appreciated in the industry. Francis Ingham, the director general of the Public Relations and Communications Association, said the body had never accepted Clifford as a member.

“I feel sorry for his friends and family. But it would be a lie to construct something nice to say on the death of Mr Clifford. He did our industry a disservice by pretending to be part of it,” he told the Guardian on Monday.

“As the industry’s professional body, the PRCA deliberately never gave him a platform, nor did we ever accept him as a member. On the contrary, we repeatedly condemned his work as being the opposite of ethical practice. Nobody in the PR industry will shed a single tear on his passing.”

I think "Released" from prison is maybe not the correct terminology. Can you really be released in a box?

Setting the controls for the heart of the sun.
I meant that he cocked up in life big style. He lived in luxury yet ended up living with people who probably had lived in total poverty before being jailed. They might've lost sweet FA whereas Max Clifford lost a hell of a lot.

And the people he assaulted lost a lot more and even after he is gone, still have to live with the consequences of his actions.

Yes that's true. I'm not defending him,i'm just saying that he was a fool to end up in jail when he had such a great life. Although his crimes were committed before he made his fortune so he could've said the past came back to haunt him. I still think it's a bit bad to rejoice in his death.

Wether he was successful, wealthy, ect is irrelevant to what he was.People in positions of power and authority id say makes it all the worse.A arrogant pr1ck who thought he was untouchable.
That doesn't answer my question. You're suggesting that Clifford, a sad, angry, abusive man who was unpopular in the industry he thought he was part of and who had several axes to grind, had a great life because he was wealthy. He didn't.

It's very possible to have a great life without much money.
Given that you've conceded that you need some money, you two are just negotiating the amount then?
