Yes that's true. I'm not defending him,i'm just saying that he was a fool to end up in jail when he had such a great life. Although his crimes were committed before he made his fortune so he could've said the past came back to haunt him. I still think it's a bit bad to rejoice in his death.

I wouldn't use the term great life. He had wealth and was possibly tolerated by a number of those with whom he rubbed shoulders, because of the position of influence he had engineered over many years and of the indiscretions he knew or suspected.
He ended up in jail because he was convicted of being an abuser. In one way I am content for him to be off the taxpayer's bill and he has gone the same way as Saville. On the other hand he was only 31/2 years into his sentence and another part of me would have been content for the death to have occurred the day before he was due to be released.

Well i was going to post that rejoicing in his death is daft because he has escaped his sentence. It's similar to those who say we should reintroduce the death sentence for "heinous crimes". Yes,have your moment of retribution but then that person is free from his/her daily suffering. Think about the evil git Thomas Hamilton who committed the atrocity at that school in Dunblane. My first thoughts were that the evil git had killed himself,escaping any justice or retribution.

Well, a certain level of wealth does indeed make life easier. The actual amount is debatable.

Ive been in both situations. It was tougher being penniless after having money but I was happier.

I now have funds that pay all my bills without having to worry about it. I have money in the bank to go on holidays, buy bikes etc. I am "comfortable". For me it is better than having lots of money and better than being skint. If I were to turn the clock back I would have been donating lots of money to different causes.

I can say for certain that money is not the route to happiness. You find that yourself.
