Maxxis Detonators

Anyone have any experience of these. They came as standard with my new Wilier. Unfortunately 11 miles into first ride I had my first puncture. Presumed that the bike just came with bog standard tyres and I should replace them but from what I've read maxxis detonators are a pretty good and tough tyre. Just wondered if I should replace with gatorskins or keep the detonators on and just be more realistic about punctures and there invertibility?

There's a reason they're called "Detonators". Possibly the worst tyres I've had fitted to a new bike when I purchased a Giant hybrid - they were so thin I had a puncture almost every ride.

I'd go with Gatorskins every time.

I thought that when I took them off. I've had thicker condoms! I was just a little confused by all the great reviews online.
