I am unlikely - the missus has plans and we won't be sure till sunday. It's a case of getting away from mithering family - i.e. a bit of us time (with the kids). Last few weekends have been wiped out running around for folk.

I'm not gonna be there Dan, still full of a cold, not been on bike since Monday, only did 2 days last week an all.
May could be the first month I don't hit my 10 mile a day target now

I should be there unless it is proper pi**ing it down. Looks like there will be a little drizzle first thing but clearing by 10ish not too windy either. See you in the morning

Dan_Bo - thanks for the shout but i'm pre-booked for tomorrow.

Hope the weather holds for you guys.

Give me a shout for the next one - I'v been over the Snake a few times now.
I still enjoy it despite the traffic

Well that was a frigging disaster. Hacienda and I set off at 9.10 in a bit of drizzle but hey ho and the climb up to the top of the snake was good, especially with the wind behind us. Then I had a simultaneous rear brake failure/front tyre blow out. Frrrrrrrrp. Regained my. Composure, replaced the front inner, snapped the valve in two whilst pumping the bugger up.

Cue much faffing. Sorted the bike out and turned round.

Cheers for the tube Chris.

Well that was a frigging disaster.

To add to the disasters; I did try to make it. I was even at Stalybridge Station at 8:25. However, thanks to there being about 100 Huddersfield Town supporters between my bike and the door by that stage (the train had been nearly empty on leaving Leeds) there was no way in hell I was going to get myself off the train, let alone my bike.

I got off the train at Manchester and rode back to Stalybridge, getting there about 9:30. Deciding that I had no idea where you were and not having any way to contact you I decided not to kill myself by trying to chase you down on the Snake so rode back to Leeds instead. Looks like that turned out to be a good decision.

The A635 over Saddleworth Moor is a fantastic bit of road! Judging by the speed I did into Holmfirth it must be a real bugger riding the other way.

Sorry I didn't make it, but will try again if you run this again Dan.

I have an unused return portion of a train ticket from Stalybridge to Leeds valid for the rest of today if anyone wants it!
