McAfee blocking Google

Anyone know why I might be getting McAfee blocking all google searches?
It's only started the last couple of days but everytime I do a google search I get a warning.


And how can I sort it? (I have tried switch off/on)

Might have a re-direct virus, have you run the anti virus and checked? What results do yo get if you turn it off?

What is a re-direct virus? I get onto google and then when I search it comes up with a warning so that might be it. I have no idea how to turn it off or if it's a good idea to do so.

Ditch Mcafee and give Microsoft Security Essentials a try instead.

something hijacks your Browser and every search brings up dodgy sites that are not in Google.

When you go to Browser do you see the normal page? If you do in the address bar does it look weird? Or the search when blocked what does the address bar have in it? Not saying this it. If you have installed some free software or trial software it is sometime bundled with these. The other thing you could try is a restore to an earlier time, depending on the version of windows

Personally I would go straight to this before following all of those instructions

I carelessly downloaded McAfee along with something else and I occasionally get Chrome being hijacked and the Yahoo search page instead. In Chrome's settings, it changes over to ''secure search''. If that's what's happening, you can reset this to Google.
