Nearly responsible for a prang with another cyclist on the way home. He was going quite slowly, quite some way into the middle of the road, so I undertook him on the inside. However, just at that moment he swerved inward and I nearly took us both out. I won't try that again.

Undertaking = bad. On the other hand I overtook two guys yesterday and got beeped and shouted at by two cretins in cars who took exception to my taking primary. Unfortunately both jumped the lights before I could catch up and have some more words...

I often get undertaken on roundabouts ... when they go around the outside and I'm sticking in primary. It only tends to happen near the centre... which I guess is where I'm able to go at car speed, and in primary.

Difficult one... I undertook someone today; he was riding a foot and a half from the right kerb, very slowly, on a narrow (single lane) one way street. I gave him miles of room, I think the manoevre was safe. But, generally, its a no-no.

If your going down the left of then, then say, "On your left." They shoud look and stay where they are.
I did once nearly take out some person on a bike after they were in the middle of the road, looked like they were going right, then left then i noticed i was coming up on the person fast and braked. Turned out the person was going straight on, but just decided to wonder to the turn offs:wacko:

I nearly got caught out the other week, trying to nip between the last parked car and a van. I really didn't think he would go left, as it was a bus lane in operation and there was no apparent advantage to him anyway. The van driver didn't look in his mirrors, and quickly turned the wheel and went. Both our faults really, but no harm done as a toot on the airzound froze him.

The one annoying thing was that he claimed he couldn't see me because I was too low. In reality, I was watching his face in the wingmirror, and he didn't bother to look, no doubt assuming he was too close to the parked car for another vehicle to pass him there. The other was that I almost did overtaking instead, due to a twitchy feeling, then thought "nah, can't be bothered." Won't ignore that next time.

I'll pass another bike on the inside when there's a lot of room and I'm quicker enough to get it done quickly

It infuriates me when someone rljs when I'm slowing or stopped and three feet from the curb, there's a girl who's done it to me twice now in Bishopgate, gone past at full speed throught that gap as I stopped, with every chance of a slight wobble or putting that foot down from me, so stupid it's unreal

Oh vehicle yes and it's old hat...they dont tend to look in their mirrors but tend to ignore them (sic)...sometimes I think they know im there.I thought this was about undertaking other cyclist and not about undertaking road vehicles of which I do quite a lot obviously and get caught like BM.
