I the west of Scotland the ITV channel is STV and the Daily Record newspaper asking people to vote on the Greatest ever Scot. Seemed to be going on for months. There was a programme on about it that I fortunetly had the pleasure of not watching. However I read about the top 5.

God knows who voted but it says a lot about the peanuts who voted.

2. William Wallace
3. Alexander Fleming (Penicillin discoverer)
4. Jock Stein (First British manager to win the European Cup with Celtic and Scotland Manager)

and number 5.

John Logie Baird? Alex Ferguson? Alexander Graham Bell? Andrew Carnegie? John McAdam, Billy Connolly, Sean Connery, Sir Walter Scott, Charles Rennie MacKintosh, David Livingston???????????????????????????????????????
