Well a few weeks of having a dog-free home we have taken the plunge and bought Willow. She's a Fox Red Lab from a working strain, bred by a 'keeper in Skipton.

81/2 weeks old we picked her up Wednesday evening. She has given us all a good scare by having a seriously upset tummy, which may explain the slightly doleful look to some of the pics......but we think she's on the mend now. I was up several times in the night to syringe in electrolytes, but whatever went through her has now gone through her!

Anyway, she's back drinking for herself again, and has eaten some scrambled egg which she slept off behind the sofa.

Lovely looking pup, do yourself and your dog a favour and feed her BARF (biologically appropriate raw food).
I have two German Shepherds in superb condition that are fed exclusively on raw food.
A local dog friendly farm shop supplies all my raw food for my dogs, I've never regretted switching from supermarket pet food for the older dog and my young dog has been fed raw from day one of eating solid food.

do your own research, see the benefits of feeding raw. http://www.backtobasicsrawpetfood.com/feeding-guide

I'll certainly look into it. She's going to work, so whatever it takes to keep her in rude health. A mate of mine used to feed his GSPs on whole raw food, so it was usual to see them eating a whole rabbit, in it's entirety, then sleeping for the next couple of hours whilst digesting it. Bizarre, and I would imagine parasites would be an issue.

I am delighted to report she finished off the scrambled egg, then a good handful of softened dried food. She made herself jump when the D ring on her collar clanged on the steel bowl, so she spent the next ten minutes taking a biscuit at a time out of the bowl, launching herself across the kitchen and dropping it, before stalking it and pouncing. She's now flat out in her basket.
