Merida ?

Anyone got any experience of them ?

I saw a Merida roadie in my LBS, it looked the part, and wasn't a silly price, so I'm looking to see what people think ?

They wanted £1000 for it, it was full carbon too.
Dont know anything more about em than that?

I had a Giant OCR1 until it got nicked, lovely bike . The Merida I looked at yesterday seemed a similar spec (carbon fork, paddle index gears, but not a brand I recognised). It certainly looked the part, but was tagged at £500

Not sure about Giant as they own their own factory, but defintitely Specialized. They seem to make nice spec bikes.

Cheers for the tip MrP. I'm still a little way off getting a bike yet but trying to get some sensible idea's for my next bike. I test rode a bike with soara levers, but I didn't really get on with them.

Merida are the second biggest bike manufacturer in the World after Giant.

They make many bikes for the flashy brands - Specialised and until recently, Halfords Carrera
If the bikes fits you, you will not be disappointed with it

I know a few folk who ride them, Honest Man and Jane Smart of the forum do and they seem good vfm bikes.

This is the exact one I have - got it last july via the cycle scheme. Its a decent racer and I enjoy riding; im looking at doing a few races eventually and get into it as a sport. The blue trim is the 77 and the red trim is the 75 I think - I was told the 77 is better. mine was £499 brand new so was a good deal - they around £549 from merida directly.

This is all sounding good . Anyone shed any light on the sunrace groupset - what is getting spares like ?

Aren't they a bit rarer here due to a lack of dealers but a lot more popular on the continent? Specialized on the other hand seem to be everywhere here.
