Looking to buy one of these as my first modern road bike .they seem well priced and have good reveiws .would this be a good buy to get me into modern road bikes as my steel bikes are heavy in comparison am going to see one on SaturdaySaturday

6 feet and I'm sure my size is out of stock but will wait if I have to all the reveiws I have read seem to point to the fact it is the best bike in its price range on the market

Blimey! All that for £350. As long as you can get the size you want, it seems like a bit of a no-brainer.

Why not ring them and see what the lead time is on the out of stock sizes? The fact that it's £100 off with the common sizes out of stock, does leave me slightly worried that once it's gone, it's gone and it's due to be replaced.

If it all goes pear shaped, then the Jamis Ventura isn't a million miles away in spec and price. You give up the carbon fork, but that in and of itself, isn't the only reason to buy a bike.

I have their previous similarly specced £300 bike (S2200) and it's just passed 12,000 miles, albeit with a few components changed over the years. Can't fault it really, for the price it is a lot of bike, great for a first bike!

Went to merlin yesterday to have a look at pr7 out of stock at moment sizing seems to be the only issue as could get a 56 or a 59 any thoughts ? On which would be better lovely looking bike by the way and very helpful

Just seen the new pics of the 2016 merlin pr 7 looks great know where I am going in the next week will be on phone to them 9 am tomorrow

Just had notification from parcel force that the merlin 2016 model is on it's way in the next day or so hope it's tomorrow so I can take it out for a quick spin

Got a 59 in the end have to say the 56 didn't feel much different it's my first real modern road bike so will be only doing about 35 to 40 mile trips to start hopefully by next year will be hoping to go on something a bit longer have done 40 miles a few times this year but on a old steel frame it's a bit heavy hope this will be easier.

Well it's arrived set up and out for a first 8 mile spin gear shifters are taking a bit of getting use to but the brakes are wonderful will try a bit further tomorrow night toget used to it it does seem to handle nicely and looks great big thanks to merlin cycles for this great looking bike ideal for me as a first road bike
