Or more to the point one I'd been informed had died a in 2005/2006. Didn't appear to recognise me, but for me it was something he said that made me realise who it was.
Apparantly I'm still breaking the law, although I'm not at risk of loss of liberty this time for my crimes. Checking a licence plate to see what vehicle it belonged to. That is a privelage not open to us it appears & although not said directly, any information gained must be by illegal means. "The DVLA don't give those details out just to anybody".

If I should meet him again any advice on how I comment on how he's looking. For a person who's dead.

In fact they do give the details out to 'just anybody'. It's a Form V888. You have to have 'reasonable cause' for wanting the information e.g. it's abandoned, or was driven away without payment, but what's wrong with that?

Yes, speak to him respectfully. Never speak ill of the dead.

Did he leave through the wall, through a closed door, or an open door?

Were his feet above, below or at ground level?
I'll have to admit I never actually saw him leave. I never even thought about that. Until now.
Feet at ground level, black shows being worn.
There one minute, I look to see that the chair he was sat on is now empty, so I'm unable to ask him why he said what he did.

Building we were in at the time was/is a church.
