Just checked MetCheck and it indicates that next Wednesday there will be a slight breeze from the north, about 344 mph:ohmy:, that will be a bugger of a head wind:tongue:.

I was on holiday on Jersey over the summer with the GF. We were wanting to go on a boat trip from but all week it was cancelled because of the weather. The guy who ran the boat said he used Metcheck as it gave him a 2 hr by 2 hr guide to the weather. Perhaps if he had used another weather forecast site perhaps we could have gone out.

It has to be said that Metcheck isn't always the most reliable of weather sites it has to be said - understatement alert!!

I had a name for metcheck when I was at uni, I called it metcheque because of its disputable value for money.

If I had access to a weather station I could have a go at verifying the accuracy of the forecasts and determine the forecasting skill and could do it with a number of other freely available forecasting products that are out there to determine which is the best. I know for a fact that forecasts found in newspapers can be pretty spot on, they are provided by the Meteogroup which is run out of an office at the Press Association.

As for forecasts I use. I use my own, all done by interpreting expert charts provided by a couple of different models that are available freely on the internet.
