Cycling home from town yesterday I went along West Walls (for those of you who know Carlisle)
It's a two way road but it narrows to the width of a single car.
Just as I get to the speed bump where it really pinches in I can hear a car behind speeding up, and I'm thinking "really?" But yes, he passes me -close!
Then just ahead I see another car, parked in the entrance to a yard or something, not quite on the road but not totally off it, but ready to pull out and I think "really?" And yes, he pulls out -straight into the path of the other car.
So they both stop, And I stop. And they look at each other. And I look at them both (well their cars, I couldn't really see the drivers) And I say "jeez you are stupid" and cycle around and between them and on my way. Look back and they're still sitting there, staring at each other.
I did consider stopping to see how long it took for somebody to actually give an inch but thought that would've been too sad.
