Excitement in McGinty Towers ce soir, the stove fan has arrived and, perched atop the burner, is now whizzing warm air all over the shop - I don't know how we ever lived without one!

Are they good then? Ive been having a look but they seem pretty pricey, especially if they don't work.

Thanks but no thanks. I think I'll pass.
What happens if you put your finger in it when it's going round?
It stops? and of course your finger falls off.

I was visiting my cousin last week and she had one on top of her woodburning stove.
It's difficult to rate its performance, but it runs completely silently and may well circulate the warm air above the stove. I was a bit concerned about the black unguarded blades whirring around, but didn't check to see what happened if the blade was obstructed, at £100 a pop I didn't want to have to buy a replacement.
The top pic is this thread illustrates perfectly just how difficult they are to see:whistle:.

Ok chaps, here's the low-down thus far:

This one came from Roundwood Trading off of that ebay.
It started up automatically like when the stove got hot.
It's definitely warmer in the hall as you approach the front the front room, door is about 18' from the stove.
If your finger touches the fan you know it's whizzing around at a fair rate of knots, no claret though.
If you fancy touching the fan when the stove's lit to see if it's hot, I can state that it is, very, still.

So, no scientific stuff to back anything up but if you've got £50 burning a hole (ho ho), go it!
