Yes. The interview with Rushdie was interesting - I always thought he was a prat, but he's not quite as bad as I'd visualised.

Yes, and managed not to miss any so far (albeit with judicious use of iPlayer for one part this afternoon when I was doing that cycling thing). Rushdie often, I think, comes over really rather well in interviews. The production on this version is excellent too.

I didn't either - one of those books I thought I "ought to read", tried several times .... and NEVER made it beyond the first few pages. But as adapted? It really is quite superb. I've been gripped ... much to my surprise.

I've caught a couple of episodes but I'm going to have to go back to the beginning and listen to the whole thing. I've actually read the novel twice and after the first 50 or 60 or so pages it becomes quite magical. So, a book I found challenging to start but really fulfilling to read. I was surprised it became the Booker Book but it deserves it. And from what I've heard so far, the dramatisation sounds very promising.

....this book in particular left me cold...

It didn't entrance me as a book either, but this particular radio adaptation, combined with the format of broadcasting it entirely within one day and making the sections whatever length best suited them, works very well indeed.
