I can't wait till i back at home to write it..... Gonna raise a bit of money for a friends charity while i am out-of-my-mind . Two big reasons why i am doing Anglesey 1st... Well i really want to go round it and enjoy it after reading another Blog myself. And the 2nd is that if i raise money for charity i can do it by way of milage rather than 'Im going up Snowdon on a MTB!'... I might get to Llanberis and the weather report could be bad for the next morning!. They can't stop you going up but i am not mad enough to put myself in 'harms way!';). If it was too bad to bike then i will hike instead; If its too bad for neither then it will have to be another day or if cash is ok i would wait for the next day.

Name: Badger.
Mission: Snowdon.
Sub-Missions: Tour Anglesey and learn a welsh word (other than Boyo!)
Main Task: Get home alive!!!!.

The Boil in the bag compo meals are made by a company which also markets them as wayfarer meals, blacks and the other main outdoor shops sell them for about £3:50. but there are two versions one version is just the meal pack the other has a heating pack enclosed and cost £4+.
But plenty of guys sell the complete packs on ebay.

I don't want to rain on your parade but....

I think that you need to fully research the conditions on Snowden/Llanberis during April/May. You'll need plenty of warm clothing as the average temperatures are fairly low. The odds are stacked against you making it up Snowden on foot never mind on a bike.

I'd wait until it was a lot warmer.

Vernon, I beg to differ. sure it'll not be that warm, there might even still be a bit of snow, but april and may are often the best months in the year. I've seen hill runners in shorts and vest on snowdon in December.

SB, you'll be warm enough puffing your way up the llanberis path, just make sure you don't flatten any tourists on the way down!!

Right Badger! Been on tinterweb thingy today. Got milages for my tour in may. So Leeds to Kendal 69.8 miles, Kendal to Bowness 9.7,bowness to windermere 1.2,windermere to Ambleside 5.0,Ambleside to Coniston 8.0, Coniston to Hawkshead 4.1, Hawkshead to Barrow in Furness 27.8, Barrow to Leeds 94.6. Thinking of doing the first 40 on day one, then the other 30 plus kendal,Bowness, windermere and Ambleside day 2, Then onto Coniston, Hawkshead day 3 (Easy day) Oto Barrow day 4 and day 5 and 6 back to Leeds.

What do you reckon, I know your not a proffesional mate just askin your honest opinion as youve gotten about more than me by the looks of things.

Had to put on here as pc wont let me PM you.......?
Any one else want to add their input please crack on.

Have researched it fully Vernon and thanks for the concern . I know it won't be easy and yea the weather is a major factor... I just hope for the best at the time.

I'd also check how much climbing each day has up what angle of gradient ??
Some of my hardest days on last summers tour weren't the +60 miles days with ~2,000' climbing on the flat, but the 30 mile days with +3,000' climbing over a lot of steep stuff.
