I have to confess the last mince pie only went today - the Mrs hid it, and I only discovered it an hour ago sitting in the centre of the microwave.

I probably post this comment every year, but I love mince pies. Unfortunately they make me fart like Satan's trombone player (any dried fruit has the same effect). Combined with a rather hideous aroma. xx(

Thanks for sharing.

Bought mince pies. Seriously?
Well, you could buy a load of fruit and sugar and suet and ... stuff (it's been a while), mince it, mix it, pack it into jars, wait a few weeks. Then make a pastry (shortcrust is my go to), let is rest for a few hours, roll it, make the pies, bake, wait until they are cool and then scoff ... or buy a packet.

I've done both some years. As you may gather from the above, resorted to only the latter in recent years.

I take it you can’t have pork pies for Yom Kippur though
What's yom kippur?

You still stealing yours Mike? ;)

Home made pastry, homemade mince. Proper relationship between the two (ie far more mince and far thinner pastry than the bought ones). Simple. No doubt I'll make another attempt on the world record again this December.

Less than 54 seconds or more than 46 in 600 seconds?
