Well, my commute from work this morning is going to make me MTFU. It's absolutely p*ss*ng down and has been since silly o'clock this morning. Add to this it's supposed to be getting very windy as well.

I don't have waterproofs as I sweat enough as it is so it should be a fun ride home.

At least you're going home!

When I'm going home, I don't care if I get soaked to the skin.

It's when I get soaked to the skin on the outward journey that I dread ...

The weather here is beastly here too, howling wind and lashing down rain. Glad I got out yesterday.

To be fair, the forcast was spot-on for us. Hope you don't get too wet!

PHEW..... Now that was an experience. Within about 20 seconds of getting on the bike I was soaked to the skin so there was no point complaining. Roads flooded on both sides in some parts and the rain felt like darts. I know helmets might not be the best protection but it stopped the darty rain hitting my bald head. Then half way home the wind hit me, right in the face so I was struggling to get to 8mph.

Anyway, home now and getting warm and dry with a nice cuppa tea.

It's amazing when the weather's like this how many drivers decide to still do 60+mph as if it's bone dry.

On days like this, the recumbent trike comes into its own. Being lower down than an upright, the adverse effects of the wind are mitigated quite a bit. The downside is that you do require waterproofs... but the extra stability in inclement weather far outweighs the disadvantages of having to be wearing waterproofs due to more splashing.

Supposed to have been on the club run this morning, got up took one look at the p****** rain and howling wind and decided to give it a miss. Spent the morning on the computer putting together a DVD slideshow of some holiday snaps.

15 miles e/w to a 10K road race today. Cats and dogs with a stiff breeze, burns running over the road instead of under. And to cap it all, when I got home, I'd been locked out by the wife.

Sheet, that is hardcore. I was just patting myself on the back for making to the garage for a cheeky session on the turbo.
