Mini pump advice

How do you know when a mini pump doesn't work as well as it should?

My mini pump has started annoying me, it was the type where you pop it over the valve directly. The washer for the valve was starting to wear, and when I pumped it was hopeless. Have just bought a new Lezyne pump at my LBS. Was actually cheaper than Wiggle. Comes with a good old fashion flex hose. Have not had to use it yet - but I know it will be better.

I'm asking because I find it difficult to pump a tyre at 30PSI. Not much but it does tire me out.

Maybe worth getting a track pump? For 30 psi shouldn't take a few pumps to get to 30. Or maybe a co2 pump for when out and about?

topeak pocket rocket for roadside use here, I can get 100 psi in with relative ease & I'm no muscleman.

Topeak pocket rocket also , never gets anywhere near 100 psi with 200 reps , at which point I give up and cycle home with about 80 psi in the tyre , it did work good first couple of times I used it but went downhill quickly .

My m8 has one and its quite good , I use his instead of mine if he is with me when I puncture , only downside with screw on adapter is when you put new tube in and pump it up , sometimes when you unscrew the adaptor the core comes with it straight out the valve.

So a good tip is to check the cores are tight on your spare tubes ( especially conti tubes)

I now have the Lezyne after my old pump failed. I've tried it out on 2 Presta valved tubes (I've had more failures of Conti tubes, not punctures). The specification is 90psi and I got to 95. Having wrecked two valves with pumps that fit directly with no hose I wanted a pump with a hose and the Lezyne has one.
