I also gave up on Jamaica Inn after 15 minutes though I'd looked forward to it after reading the book in my teens.... local accents alls done in whispers are all well and good but I couldn't hear a word of it

I gave up and am wasting time on here! Wifey has put the subtitles on.

HER though I quite like. Not full of herself, doesn't take herself too seriously, has talent.

We watch Miranda. Wifey is into Jamaica Inn.... 5.1 speaker setup turned up helps a lot, but the dialogue is still quiet!

We abandoned Jamaica Inn half way through the second episode. I simply couldn't be arsed with it anymore, and we love a good costume drama. The BBC have dropped the ball on this one quite badly. Not only is the sound appaling, but the 'mood' isn't right...

And Miranda is not my cup of tea.
