Hi Community, I dont know if you can help - some one stole my bike yesterday i lock it up for about 20 mins upon return it had been stolen. Its a Mirider grey. Got stolen in Burgess Park.

This won't help you short term but just get a bike people won't want to steal. I've lived in South London for 30yrs. Cycle theft is a constant thing, it's always there.

No such thing. Some toerag will want it to just get home from the pub then throw it in the canal, or to their dealer or sell for a fiver.

true, but i've never had a bike stolen on the streets of London.

Then the police know about it and who owns it.

Report the bike stolen to police and include the serial number.

Also the number, just might mean if some copper stops a client with a new to him bike he has a way of pursuing matters.

It's Burgess Park FFS. I grew up over the road, Im astounded you took your eyes off it for 2 minutes let alone twenty. Consider yourself lucky it wasn't taken by force.
Bike insurance is reasonable and a must.

Thank you all - The insurance company (HISCOX) is a con - I told them it got stolen - but because I locked on a tree - which the person who stole it cut down the girthy tree - lack of stand s is clear in the area

its gone - i am gutted - it was a gift so more gutted by that!!

its my second bike to be stolen. Both locked properly - first one was locked on a Sheffield stand and they cut through the stand!
