Ive got long term neck damage and have gone through every conceivable type of mirror imaginable. Those that plug directly are by far the best.
The Sprintech bar end mirror is absolutely superb for drop bars, built specifically for them, by people who clearly understood the needs of such a mirror. It is readily adjustable, stable in use with no vibration and is sudficiently flat to give an easily gaugeable distance reckoner, it also sits in line with the flow of the bar so doesn't get knocked or bashed about.

Mine is currently on the roadie my son is borrowing so I'm using a zefal spin mirror I had lying about whilst I'm fettling other bits on *my* recently acquired road bike.
Again it is excellent and vibration free, it does poke out sideways though which I suspect would see it vulnerable to damage if I hit the deck on that side.

With respect to Blackburn mirror users, I've always found their mirrors utter cr@p. Vibratey, fiddly, poor attachments & always frustrating before very long in use.
