It's the annual macho-fest

!
For myself, I prefer comfort. It's a tough time of year. I'm working mid afternoon to late night. So it's been shirt (unzipped on the hills) and shorts on the way in. I've started bringing in leg warmers and my Aldi rain jacket for the trip home. It's not so much the temp (around 10C), but the wind chill that gets me. I keep forgetting that long finger gloves for the trip home would be a boon.
There'll come a point in a month or so when tights and a jacket both ways will be comfortable. But until then, it's mix and match for me.
The only time I've seen one of these supermen in real life was a couple of autumns ago. I got caught in the worst hail storm I've ever seen, I was getting welts on my legs through my Rainleg and ditto arms through jacket. I was feeling really sorry for myself.
When I turned the last corner before the steep hill down to my village, I was met with the sight of a young lad on a mountain bike wearing cargo shorts and a t-shirt... the little divil was whistling as he waved at me as we passed!
