Royal Mail, why do they make it so hard to find a missing parcel?

I gave my Brother some money to order me some bib tights for winter from Wiggle on his card. That was in early September, them being Gore they were out of stock at the time so we just waited for them to come in and get the email. Time passed on and I forgot until this week and realised.. "wheres me leggins?!"

Bro emails Wiggle who say "nothing to do with us, we posted them on the 28th Sept, phone Royal Mail."

He goes on their website expecting there to be a customer services number or email. The website seems a little convoluted at best. I've just been on there to try and figure it out but it just takes me to a claims pdf. WTF I just want the parcel? It doesnt even seem an appropriate document, its for the person who sent it I think?

Anyone had trouble like this recently? How did you sort it? I've not had an "undelivered mail" card through the door or anything

Surely Wiggle should be chasing the Post Office to find out what happened to the package they posted to a customer?

I read some where that until you actually recieve the parcel, the sender is still rsponsible to get what you ordered to you. So they should resend another and chase the royal mail themselves.

They are probably wondering why you have waited 6 weeks to notify them of the fact it's not been received.
But I'm sure now you have told them then they should be chasing the RM and not you,if the parcel was sent back to the sorting office then it would have been returned to Wiggle by now.
Other thing is maybe it was delivered to the wrong house and they have kept it.
Keep on at Wiggle though,no way you should be out of pocket.

I lost a parcel this summer, something I bought from CC. I got in touch with them and they ignored my emails but I remembered I had paid with Paypal so I raised a case for non delivery..... CC replied that they had replied to me (lies) and since 28 days had passed since they sent the parcel, CC would resend the goods. The goods were only worth £11 but I was annoyed at CC for ignoring my emails.

I managed to get my stuff in the end so I continue buying from CC

If you paid by Credit Card you might be able to do something about it.

Yep, everyone is right: Wiggle is legally responsible, and trying to palm you off onto Royal Mail is very poor behaviour. I've bought a few things from them, but your post has just cost them a customer.

+1 to all that.

The sender is responsible until the goods have been received. There's no way that I'll be using them again after they have fed you a piece of crap like that.

There is also the credit card company .... they actually "own" the goods not you

Wiggle need to chase this up as they will have details of the consignment (tracking number etc). Royal Mail cannot act upon your behalf as you are not their customer - Wiggle has the contract to deliver.

If the worst comes to the worst- Small Claims Court including the alternatives to an actual claim such as mediation

I stopped using Wiggle several years ago.

Unusual response from Wiggle. They're usually pretty good and, given the amount of stuff they send via Royal Mail, well aware that stuff goes missing - a LOT of stuff in all likelihood! Plus, I suspect they're insured for such losses, most businesses are.

I suggest you contact them again just to say the stuff hasn't arrived and ask for a replacement. It really isn't (or oughtn't be) a biggy.

There's also the Chargeback scheme that is run by most CC companies nowadays and you can get your money back through that without going to court. I don't think it costs you anything either and it puts bad rep on Wiggle (from a credit point of view).

Cheers everyone. My Brother and I live at the same address, the parcel will be in his name but no chance he put the wrong adress on it.

I also find it a bit odd he never got the email saying "item dispatched" like with the other good we've ordered this year.

Potsy, we've ordered stuff before that has been out of stock and usually get emails when it comes in and when it is dispatched. We havent had that this time. Next time I'll prolly not bother if its not immediately available.

go to your online wiggle account and check the status of the order and when it was shipped - match this to what they told you.

Any out of stock items are cancelled automatically by wiggle after 30 days (then you need to re-order) - did they actually charge your account - check your Credit card statement.

That's a shame, I've always been impressed in the past with Wiggle. Always very fast delivery and returns were easy too.

Never had anything go missing. Order some things for my Mum and Royal mail put it in a store cupboard, which was fine as we said to on the note if she was out. Only problem was they didn't put a card in saying so Mum didn't realise for a few days. Not Wiggle's fault though.

Could that of happened to you? Is it hidden in a recycling bin somewhere, haha?
