Missing parcel, now I appear to be down 80 quid

Cheers everyone. My Brother and I live at the same address, the parcel will be in his name but no chance he put the wrong adress on it.

I also find it a bit odd he never got the email saying "item dispatched" like with the other good we've ordered this year.

Potsy, we've ordered stuff before that has been out of stock and usually get emails when it comes in and when it is dispatched. We havent had that this time. Next time I'll prolly not bother if its not immediately available.

If you go into your wiggle account online you can see if they sent a email to you. the problem often is if you give the wrong postcode, or if the person dealing with your order types in just one number or letter wrong in the postcode, then you are buggered, as most carriers sort parcels by scanning the barcoded label, thus your parcel goes off to the wrong depot, where it will stay until returned to wiggle's as undeliverable.

I have had this happen a few times, the last time the parcel was addresed to someone else, but the Postcode was wrong as they had put my postcode on his parcel I found the person telephone number, who luckly lived in Crawley, and phoned him up and asked if he had my parcel which he had, I then phoned the depot told them of the mistake, and they swopped them over in about a hour. So a simple mistake can be so frustrating. but the secret it to keep on top of what you order, because in most cases delivery is completed within 5 days once dispatched from the supplier.

The sender has to start the enquiry. They have all the details .Posting dates ,items could have neen collected from Wiggle by Royal Mail .So there may be a item number .

It's not your job to chase up .

Ask for your money back .See how they respond .

May I ask what the appeal of Wiggle is? They seem to typically be more expensive than most online retailers whenever I've looked anything up there. Often they seem to be more expensive than Evans on the high street!

Yep. In my case, it's because they are cheaper than French stores, have good stocks and selection and free delivery. I do bulk orders every 6 months or so.

I do check Chain Reaction too (and order from them sometimes because they can be cheaper than Wiggle) but they just don't carry the range of stuff that Wiggle do. I reckon CR are more MTB orientated.

My local postie doesn't bother bringing the parcels, he prewrites the sorry you were out cards with a time, always several hours above the actual time he posts (I've just missed him several times), I even once said "hang on a min" (he doesn't knock, but I hear the other letters being posted) and he still shoved the prewritten card through my letterbox and made a hasty retreat. Plus, they've let one postie stay even though he was found to be stealing post!!!

Surely Wiggle should be chasing the Post Office to find out what happened to the package they posted to a customer?

I think they can initially ask you to contact royal mail in a ''check it's not sat in the you were out pile" kind of way, but generally, until the item gets to you, it's wiggles' problem and up to them to hassle anyone they've contracted (royal fail) to deliver it.

sounds odd, did you mention that to wiggle? check online order status on your wiggle account and bank statement to see if payment was taken

I have caught the postie having put a card through the letter box, He was very apologetic, but hadn't been able to carry all the parcels for his round and so had left the larger and heavier ones at the sorting office and written cards

Having ordered some wheel rims, I felt that was fair!

Not doubting you mate, but that just doesn`t happen. Instant dismissal and, most likely, prosecution.

Yup, I've had that.Chased one up the road once who had 1) left a card without ringing the bell, and he said he'd tried to deliver the day before (!). 2)They also leave parcels out the front in full view.

Report it via the website. Then it gets logged, sent to the sorting office, and monitored.

1) perfectly acceptable for a number of reasons.
2) not acceptable

Have a word with your postie and tell him not to doorstep. If your complaining about not getting your parcels because you`re out when he calls then he probably thinks he`s doing you a favour by leaving them.

The job is down the pan .I have reason to believe that our local office is having trouble sorting items due to new and better working practices.Meaning items are taking loner than they should .So last week i complained to Customer Care by phone after a very long wait and numerous button pushings on the phone i spoke to someone .

She said she would look into my enquiry .Three of the four items did arrive on Saturday .But to test the system i posted to myself a bulky letter packet first class on Thursday 11th .It's still not arrived .The job is a joke now .

I don't think that Royal mail is losing the plot. I still get goods delivered the day after placing an online order with the likes of Amazon and Chain Reaction Cycles. Folk who buy some the the high quality tat that I place on Ebay often post feedback within 24 hours of me dispatching the goods.
