I want to fit road tyres to my MTB … Reason … My mtb is comfortable to ride with my various chronic spinal injuries…. Car bombs ..bloody nuisance …eh ..!
So it has 650B wheels (?) , 584 x 23 C…
Any suggestions for road tyres …. That aren't £40 each …
And are actually available …

I've been using a set of these for 10 months both on and offroad without one single puncture. They're pretty damn grippy too. I used 26" kojaks on another bike and they felt slippy.
I run mine at around 25-30psi which gives a reasonably comfy ride without too much drag although it's an ebike so makes near no difference to me. The little knobbles are still there despite 800 or so miles on them.
On my rims, they are ridiculously difficult to get on or off and that's with using Park 8 inch steel levers.
That in my opinion is their only downside. Prices vary.....alot.
