Ladybirds can give you a it of a nip.
I've never had a problem with ladybirds. Ladies, yes, but not the spotty flying kind...

I saved a wasp from drowning in a swimming pool while i was on holiday. I cupped my hands then threw the wasp up into the air to set it free. I also saved one from a spider's web by freeing it with a pencil. I did it to save the spider as well, as i'm sure the wasp would've stung the spider when it approached it.

How about bluebottles? I'll shoo a wasp out of the window or lift one out of the bath, but big flies leave me with a problem.

BTW, wasps are pretty good at pollinating plants so they do have a use other than being nasty vehicles for arse-daggering.

When I saw the title of this thread I was sure this was the emotional mixture in question.

Over here we have Asian ladybugs that look just like the real thing only these are brown (sit down at the back) they swarm into the house in their hundreds and are impervious to any form of chemical warfare, they bite or sting too. The only way you can get rid of them is to suck them up with a vacuum cleaner. My good lady does this making sure the reverse switch has been disabled.^_^
