On a plus note, you will probably find more English people in Edinburgh than you have where you live now.

I love Edinburgh, the Lothians and Fife. To me the area has just about everything, from hills, beaches and coastal nooks, to culture, history and museums with a good smatering of nice places to eat. I've never lived anywhere quite like it.

Just don't go too far west...

I was born in Ayrshire before being moved to North Lanarkshire aged 2. Between then and now I have lived as far east as Shotts, and west as Greenock before traveling south and ending up in Gtr Manchester via Merseyside so Edinburgh will be as far east as I've gone to date.

I moved to the north west 3 years ago, although my wife still spends 3 days per week working in essex. It's not perfect but you can make it work skype is a great help!
