Mixing a sram 9 shifter with a Shimano XT front mech

Just bought a new set of sram 9 shifter and was wondering if a shimano XT front mech would be compatible with the sram shifter. Don't want to experiment too much as i have heard about sram and shimano mixing leading to disastrous results.

Won't work properly - you can't mix them I'm afraid. Different pull on each.

Im pretty sure that theyll work fine. Its rear SRAM ESP 1:1 pull ratio which is not compatible with Shi**no.

sorry mate...utter bollox.......same pull on the front mech.....x9 shifter on front with sh**ano front mech works perfectly....
