I'm fully expecting tumbleweed to blow through this thread....

....but does anyone remember a show that used to be on Radio 3 called Mixing It?

It was a superb show that showcased experimental music, new bands, collaborations etc and was the source of much of the music that I listen to these days (including the band where I got my user name from). It was unceremoniously dumped by the BBC, but found it's way on to Resonance FM for a short period of time. Sadly, one of the presenters died in 2010.

As far as I know, there's no other show like it on the BBC anymore, but if anyone could point me in the direction of anything similar I would be grateful.

I remember it dearly. A couple of guys intellectualising over new music, earnestly discussing nuance in unlikely musical blind alleys.. It had great music and comedy moments but the presenters made it.
I guess Resonance is the most likely home for anything similar these days - had a great afternoon yesterday listening to TOST yesterday.

It's a bit more complicated than that...
Late Junction is similarly eclectic, and casts its net rather wider than Mixing It ever did.

Thansk srw, I used to like late junction but wasn't aware that it was on anymore. I think for a while when Mixing It was on a Friday night Late Junction used to be on straight after. I seem to remember it focused a bit more on World music. I'll start listening again.
