Started rubbing down the paintwork on my fixed gear conversion,on what I'd been
led to believe was a Harry Quinn frame to find a name on the down tube
"Jonathan Viner" and a faint trace of 3 large initials on the head tube mkm"

MKM cycles I have heard of,but the name Jonathan Viner means nothing to me
If the number on the b/b is correct it would date from the early 70's meaning he's probably
in his sixties by now. There was also a York post code on the b/b YO14PE
Probably a long shot but someone might know of him

After further rubbing down of the above frame it's OLNER not VINER
Unusual name but google brings up nothing pertinent
the seat tube when rubbed down revealed the letters HERRC
Hull and east riding ???

Not sure if this helps but MKM were Wes Mason, Ron Kitching and I think Macklam, Ron Kitching ran his "Everything Cycling" business from Harrogate, could it originally be an MKM frame, later re-sprayed? It would still be a fantastic frame if its an MKM, and would geographically be nearer to the location of the possible original owner you are trying to trace
