Mobile network coverage

Just spent two weeks in Norway and Telenor have signal in the most remit areas of the Fjords and at no point was I unable to make a call or use email

Return to the Uk and on the train near Winchester and the opposite is true

I am spending more time without a signal than with

Why is coverage in the UK so poor and patchy?

I live about 5 miles from Vodafone's global HQ and couldn't get a signal outside my home when I was with them.

Or one could ask, why is the coverage in Nordic countries so good? I was told that they invest a lot in network coverage in Nordic countries as getting stuck in winter and not being able to get a signal can be a serious situation.

I recently learned that if you buy a mobile phone contract, it is not compulsory for the signal tonworknat your home address. Idk the exact details but that was the gist of it.

If we stay in the EU, someone in Europe should do something about this.

I'm 785 yards from the nearest mast(I look out my window I can see it). However the newer the handset the less chance I have of getting a signal. I've returned one because it failed to get a signal, and I ain't paying for something that works some of the time in selected locations.
