Monarch Airlines

When booking online with Monarch Airlines you can book sports equipment when booking ticket.

However you cannot book a bicycle. you have to pay at the time of checking in, possibly with the chance of it being refused with no space in airplane hold.

Does anyone have experience of taking a bicycle with Monarch Airlines?

I haven't but it's a similar situation with Flybe but someone told me that they never actually refuse to take a bike. It's a risk I wasn't prepared to take though so I travelled with BA and Easyjet even tho' it was slightly less convenient.

I turned up with mine. They did not even blink and did not bother to charge me. That'll do for me.
