Of course I let all the air, save 10 psi, out of the tyres. At least that's what the counter people and TSA believe. No one at the airport has a tyre gauge and is checking tyre pressures. The point I make is that there is no danger in checking a bike with full tyres, even at 200psi the bikes' tyres aren't going to do any damage. So you don't need to pump up at the other end, and having a good high pressure pump isn't always the case when you get to your tour start location.

A bastard check-in twat at Vienna airport stuck a knife into the front tyres of our two bikes when flying out many years ago. Just let all the air out and pump up at the other end. It's not with arguing with these idiots.
