How much does it cost to Oldham?
A solution looking for a problem. Nice piece of engineering though.

And not a new solution either, people have been making monowheels for well over a hundred years. "A solution looking for a problem" implies pointlessness. The point is, to have fun making something, and playing with it. A purpose it probably fulfilled very well....

They do say on the site,

“We don’’t suggest for one moment that a functioning human powered monowheel could ever provide an improvement on the modern bicycle. Instead its value comes from the discourse and ideas generated as a result of this research.”
