I turned round to the two women next to me and said something like "how can one bloke blame the other when they both jumped the reds" to which they both laughed and agreed. Then off I sped on amber, in a cloud of moral and smug superiority.

Fantastic,I bet that cheered the motorists up as well.

I've just come back from visiting London and saw plenty of dodgy cycling (Tottenham Court Rd, Oxford St, Tooting Broadway). More RLJers than you could shake a stick at. No wonder the occasional one comes a cropper.

not much to do with RLJ though is it, more like swerving right and colliding with some behind you trying to pass?

loads of bikes tonight heading North from Bloomsbury, loads without lights in the distinctly nearly dark and an all time record of RLJers and incredible idiots, I saw at least three cyclists that I genuinely thought would be knocked over within minutes, swerving across two lanes to get to the front of the junction up the oustide and then swerving back to the inside just as lights changed to green, going between a bus and a MPV with it's wheels on left lock just as the lights changed, and reckless jumping of lights at very busy junctions

in every instance they were saved by the vigilance of drivers, incredible to watch

oh and I rode 11 miles to college for a lecture tonight only to realise I'd left the key to the lock I leave there at home, so I got to ride 11 miles home again

(yes, I've not tucked the spare into the multitool bag in the pannier)
