I just went from here to London Bridge (Guy's Hospital) to reccy a quiet route for a novice cyclist and I had to stop at 2 sets of traffic lights! It's ridiculous, lights everywhere these days!

But don't follow the river eastwards. You'll get to Dartford. Take the crossing northwards and you'll get to the roundabout heaven of Thurrock and Lakeside, and it's as bad as Dartford but with more shops. Best choose another escape.
