Sounds as if he is in the Forces to me. Possibly the Navy, but maybe the RAF.

I used to wear bright clothes a lot, pink Tshirts, bright baggy suits. In fact I still wear mulitcoloured stuff. I got gay jibes regularly. I just thought it was funny, I felt sorry for the morons who did it.

But then I'm not gay, so why should it bother me? If, on the other hand, one had some 'issues'.... ;0)
